ENGLISH PRONUNCIATION: AN INFALLIBLE METHOD NO.2

 ENGLISH PRONUNCIATION  : An  INFALLIBLE WAY OF LEARNING SPONTANEOUS & ENCHANTING ENGLISH  :                                              NOBODY EVER LEARNT SANSKRIT WITHOUT  LOUD RECITATION. SIMILARLY, IN ENGLISH TOO , THERE IS NO OTHER METHOD OF MASTERING SPOKEN ENGLISH EXCEPT  THE  METHOD OF “DAILY" LOUD RECITATION OF WORDS HAVING THE KEY OF THEIR PRONUNCIATION.   
A thorough understanding of this key given below is absolutely imperative for every reader before starting regular loud recitation.  
The system is:
1.   a as in  gate     ay
          as   father     ah
          as   hat         a
2.   e as  in  feet     ee
          as    get        e             
3.   i  as in  fight     y*                 
         as  in fit         i
4.   o as in note     oh
         as   rot          o
5.   u as in union    yoo
          as  tune       ew
            as  cut        u

In these words:
1,  ‘s’ is  always soft:
2. ‘z’ always hard:
3.  ‘k’ = hard ‘c’;
4.  ‘th’ as in ‘things’ is described as unvoiced,
5. and in ‘the’  this word is  voiced.

N.B.: y* represent the long “i” . For example: “iodine” is represented as “eye-oh-din” “idyll” as “eye-dil” “fragile” as “fraj-yl” “eye” has been used to represent an initial long “i”  (“idyll” as “eye-dil”). “-ile” has been use for such endings as –ite, -ize, and –ire. However, “-yn” has been used “-ine” in order to distinguish this ending from “-een, and “-in”.
